Recap

CLC is a member organization composed of a network of classical liberal scholars, businesspeople, non-profit professionals, and other supporters, who share a presence or interest in the Carolinas, and who share in the vision and mission of CLC.

CLC 2023 featured 20-plus speakers across two days and was attended by over 50 people. These included people from different parts and backgrounds in the Carolinas, and beyond.

Professor Michael Munger received the inaugural John A. Allison Award jointly with two outstanding students from Pinnacle Classical Academy.

A copy of Professor Munger’s acceptance speech, “The Classical Liberal Diaspora,” was just published in The Independent Review.

In conjunction, the Scaled-Up Network at Western Carolina held a workshop for predominantly academic scholars in economics and politics.

Scaled-Up focuses on applied work and its policy implications. By sharing early work in a constructive culture, they aim to maximize publication impact and foster mutual support for program building and student development.
