During the Legacy Liberty program, fellows will work on a research project with a faculty mentor in their field of study who shares a passion for classical liberalism, open inquiry, and sound scholarship. With help from their faculty mentor, fellows will create an original piece of scholarship with the intention of future publication.
Fellows will also attend networking and educational workshops throughout the fellowship, culminating in the Classical Liberals in the Carolinas conference in August 2021. At the conference, fellows will have an opportunity to share their research projects with other regional scholars as part of a poster presentation. Fellows will receive free meals, lodging, travel, and registration fees for workshops and conferences attended as part of the fellowship.
We are now accepting applications for the fellowship. The Fellowship is designed for early graduate students and upper-level undergraduate students attending universities in North and South Carolina. Fellows will be selected through a competitive process of applications and interviews. A faculty nomination from a CLC member is required. The fellowship will be geared to students in economics, political science, history, legal studies, philosophy, and public policy.
Deadline: All applications for the Fellowship must be submitted by January 31, 2021.
